Hatashita oak bo for is perfect weapon kata and training.
Two years ago, I bought a white oak bokken from the Japanese company Seido. It is a work of art in its own right, but the price was also pretty grandiose, which played as a deterrent for buying a Seido bo.
This time, I decided to try something "cheaper" in terms of price, but I'm glad to see that the quality difference is not all that different between my new Hatashita bo and my bokken. I'm glad I went with this one.
For such a price, it is an excellent purchase. The weapon is well balanced and the density of the oak is as always something to be reckoned with. I bet I could demolish things for hours before seeing any signs of wear.
Also, if you are new with these things, keep in mind that it is an heavy traditional bo, so don't expect the agility of a rattan bo.
